ROCHESTER -- Seven Minnesota West Community and Technical College wrestlers competed Saturday in the Rochester Open, and all but three of them won matches.

Chris Romero was 0-2 at 125 pounds, Adam Rients was 2-2 at 157, Braydon Johnson was 2-2 at 165, Tre Williams was 1-2 at 165, Dorian Franklin was 0-2 at 174, Austin Buchholz was 1-2 at 197 and Elijah Riemer was 0-2 at heavyweight.

Minnesota West head coach Bryan Cowdin said he was happy with the way his Bluejays competed as a unit.

"Adam and Braydon both grinded out some tough matches. Both were losing matches and got some big pins. Austin also had a pin. Still have things to work on, but very excited to see how far this group will go by season's end," Cowdin said.
