Minnesota West Men's Soccer Celebrates All-MCAC Honors, Player and Coach of the Year

Worthington, MN — The Minnesota West Community and Technical College men's soccer team has plenty to celebrate this fall, as the 2025 All-MCAC awards spotlight a season of growth and glory for the Bluejays.

Leading the charge was sophomore forward Dario Neves, named the MCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Year.

"We've had some standout players, but what makes us successful is how we play together," said Head Coach Jordan Balster. "Dario's record-setting 8 assists this season are proof that selflessness and teamwork drive results."

Neves with a dynamic season, tallying eight goals and eight assists across 13 games. His drive and vision made him the conference leader in both assists (8) and shots (40), while his 24 total points ranked second in the MCAC. Neves' impact was felt in every match, and his leadership up front helped power the Bluejays to the top of the conference.

Head Coach Jordan Balster earned well-deserved recognition as the MCAC Men's Soccer Coach of the Year.

"Coaching at Minnesota West has stretched me in ways I didn't expect," Balster shared. "It's been overwhelming at times, but incredibly rewarding—both professionally and personally."

In just the fifth season of coaching, Balster guided Minnesota West to the MCAC title, finishing with a 5-6-2 overall record and a strong 3-1-2 mark in conference play. Under his leadership, the Bluejays secured the #1 seed in the Region 13 Tournament. 

"Over the past five years, we've grown into a competitive force in our conference," Balster said. "Earning the top seed in our region shows how much this program has developed, and our win against Dakota County was a turning point—it proved what we're capable of when we play as one unit."

The honors didn't stop there. Five Bluejays were named to the 2025 All-MCAC Men's Soccer Team:

This blend of leadership and promising young talent has set a strong foundation for the program's future.

"This job isn't just about tactics and wins," Balster reflected. "It's about guiding young athletes, helping them grow on and off the field, and preparing them for life beyond soccer. Being named Coach of the Year is humbling, but it's really a reflection of the incredible effort and character of our team. I'm proud to be part of their journey."
