MCAC Volleyball Claims Five Spots in Rankings
The first regular-season 2019 NJCAA Division III Volleyball poll has five teams from the Minnesota College Athletic Conference in the weekly Top Ten.
Rochester Community & Technical College leads the way for the MCAC by claiming the #2 spot; the Yellowjackets 8-0 record includes impressive outings at the MCAC Crossover Tournament and the College of DuPage Invitational.
Minnesota State-Fergus Falls also clocks in with a 8-0 mark to start 2019 and were rewarded by the committee with the #4 slot. The Spartans rose from #9 to #4, based on a perfect 4-0 outing at College of DuPage.
Central Lakes College comes in at the #6 spot for the MCAC at 3-3; the Raiders are the lone Northern Division representative for the Conference in the poll and accumulated 21 points in the voting.
Minnesota West CTC leveraged their 5-0 start to the season to a #8 nod in the poll; the Lady Jays had an impressive 4-0 sweep at the MCAC Crossover and knocked off NJCAA Division II Iowa Lakes last week as well.
St. Cloud Technical & Community College is the fifth and final MCAC squad to receive mention; head coach Heidi Smith and her Cyclone team moved into the rankings this week with a 4-0 run at the College of DuPagetournament, matching fellow MCAC Southern Division foes RCTC and M State in a great weekend for the Conference in Chicago.
