About Basketball

The Lady Jay basketball program is rich in winning tradition. Year in and year out, it has been one of the strongest programs in the competitive Minnesota College Athletic Conference. The Lady Jays have qualified for the Region XIII tournament the last eight years and have played in the Region Championships game five of those years. The 2014-2015 season saw the Lady Jays win the Region XIII Championships and gain an appearance at the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament in Bethlehem, PA.  Numerous players have gone on to play a t the NCAA Division II, Division III, and the NAIA levels.

The Lady Jays boasted a 23-6 record in the 2017-2018 campaign, earning themselves a Southern Division Championship and the opportunity to host the Region XIII tournament. With 3 performers returning, the 2018-2019 season looks like an exciting year for the Lady Jays. There are also some new faces that will add depth and talent and the Lady Jays look to once again be a contender in Region XIII
Says Hayenga, “We have to replace a great deal of our scoring from last years’ amazing season, but we have some experience returning in our Sophomores and with the addition of some outstanding talent from the area in our Freshmen class we look to once again compete at a high level. We are looking forward to another great year”
